Case Study

This is a project collaborated with the Golden Plain Shire Local Council to promote Golden Plains Shire, an area that is close to Geelong. The website is about Golden Plains Shire's development story in Victoria, Australia with parallax animations(only available in the featured town, Bannockburn), towns' history and landmarks' detail .etc.

Year: 2022

Role: Illustrator, UX/UI Designer, Graphic Designer & Programmer

Use of software/ languages: Adobe XD, Illustrator, HTML, CSS, Java Script & jQuery

The objective of this project is to promote a place in Victoria, Golden Plains Shire. This main objective is reasonable because I am shocked that even the local people in Melbourne do not know this place. Therefore, we do this project in a group of four to deliver the story of this place. So that, people in that community or Melbourne can know it better.

The pages below are designed and written by me:

  1. Township (the page that introduces the town in this shire)

  2. Timeline of Bannockburn

Style Guide
Style Guide.jpg

Since our target audience is teenagers, the selected font is san serif because it is more modern than serif font. Besides, our heading is all cap and bold, so that, it looks more powerful.

Regarding the colours, the reason why we chose these colours is because they can reflect the sky colours. The Primary colours represent the night and the secondary colours represent the day. #FFFFEB is the colour of the moon and stars and #FFFFAD is the sun. #FBB03B is the colour of sunrise and sunset.

UX/UI Design
UI.jpg
As we want to pay for teenagers' attractions, the overall UX/UI design tends to be playful and graphical. Especially the sections, because most of the teenagers are students. Therefore, the additional content would be presented with sticky notes, paper with a pin, instant photos or an information card.
